Why we do this work - and who it's for

We've both been through it ourselves — the relationships that stopped working, the conversations that went nowhere, the gap between how much you care and how poorly it's coming across.

That's what drew us to this work. Not a theory. A lived experience of what it takes to actually change how you show up with the people you love.

Since 1990, we've been helping individuals and couples do exactly that — not through endless analysis, but through honest, practical work that creates real shifts in how people communicate, connect, and relate.

Who we help

We work with individuals and couples who are successful in life — but stuck in how they communicate and connect at home.

Most of our clients are smart, self-aware, and have already tried to work things out on their own. What they need isn't more advice. It's a different way of seeing what's actually happening — and practical tools to change it.

What makes this work different

Most people who come to us have already tried talking it through. Some have been to therapy. Some have read the books or gone to the workshops.

What's missing isn't information. It's the ability to see your own patterns clearly enough to change them — and to leave every session with something concrete to try.

That's what we focus on. Not analysis. Real shifts, in real conversations, that you can feel and experiment with right away.

Sonika Tinker, MSW

Sonika founded LoveWorks in 1990 and has spent over 35 years doing this work — thousands of sessions, hundreds of workshops, and a training lineage that spans NLP, the Enneagram, the Hendricks Institute, and much more.

What her clients notice most isn't the credentials. It's that she sees what's really going on — quickly, warmly, and without judgment.

People who've spent years in therapy often describe their first session with Sonika as the most useful conversation they've ever had about their relationship.

She is direct, deeply present, and has a gift for helping people access a more honest, self-assured version of themselves.

Christian Pedersen,
Master Coach

Christian has been coaching individuals and couples for over 20 years. He holds certifications in Coaching, NLP and mediation, and brings a background in men's work — including 20 years with the ManKind Project — that gives him an unusually grounded understanding of how men navigate (and often avoid) the emotional terrain of relationships.

His style is practical and direct, with enough warmth that the hard conversations don't feel hard to start.

He has a particular gift for helping men see their own patterns — clearly, without judgment, and without letting them off the hook.

We've been partners in life and work since 2004 — which means the people who work with us get something unusual: two coaches who have genuinely done their own work, in their own relationship, over many years.

We've had the hard conversations. We've hit the walls. We've found our way through. We bring all of that — not just our training — into the room with every client.
